Feelings of Inferiority or feelings of being less than, we have all experienced this feeling before in some instance in our life. Take for instance me being really short, 4'll to be exact, I am constantly around taller people and feel like I am a little kid around them. I feel inferior. Inferiority leads to barriers to good relationships and genuine contentment. Sometimes I find myself straying away from people who are taller than me so that I do not have those feelings of feeling less than. Whether it's being around someone with a higher status, someone who is extremely charismatics, or someone who is extremely beautiful or handsome...we all have those inferior moments that lead us to barriers between good relationships.
The Good thing is that Inferiority can be healed.
So what does the Creator of this world say about Inferiority. In Ephesians 2:10 it states that "we are God's workmanship." So what does it mean to be God's workmanship? It means that being God's Workmanship, he created us as masterpieces...we are perfect in his eyes. You know when you create something all your own and to you its beautiful in your eyes no matter how others see it. Others may say its not beautiful, its too small, it could never win, but in your mind they have no idea what they are talking about. You made this perfect so you care less what they think. Well that is how God see's you! We are the most beautiful creations God has ever made!
We do not measure up to others because we are not suppose to! We are uniquely made with independent works created by God in advance for us to do. So how then can we compare ourselves to other people...We CAN'T! God is fitting you for a purpose like no one else.
So as a person what does God expect from us?
He wants us to become full-grown and reflect his image over time. That's right OVER TIME. God is not saying that you must become like him as soon as you are baptized it takes time to become like Christ and we will be changing and reinventing ourselves until the day we die! We are a work in progress and in due time God will complete his masterpiece!
So strive to be like Jesus not like Man. Jesus is perfect, Man is imperfect. Who do you choose to be like?
