This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, `We will not walk in it.'
Temptation is a choice between walking the old Path (God's will) and walking a new Path (Satan's Will). Satan's path is presented as only a shortcut to "happiness, prosperity, and accomplishment." But this path only leads us away from God and his blessings for us. Let's not be like the people of God in Jeremiah's day who refused God's way and said, "We will not walk in it." The outcome of their choice was their own destruction.
I know we all struggle daily with temptation. We fail God daily but he never fails us. Get right back up and try again. God will never leave you nor forsake you. He is a light unto our path even when it seems too dark to make it through. Joy, peace, and rest will be waiting for you at the end of the road.
