The Pursuit of Perfection

Have you ever felt the pressure to be perfect?
Take for instance the pressure from your family, teachers, friends, the list goes on and on. We have all been in this predicament. The pressure to be perfect is ever so present in this society. The media claims they do not condone perfection but we constantly see on television or magazins, women and men who look completely "perfect." They have the perfect bodies, the perfect hair, the perfect look. The media strives for perfection. Perfection is NOT possible!

The same is said for Christians. As Christians we strive for perfection, whether its the way we dress, the way we speak, the way we carry ourselves around certain people. Christians of all people should know that we are imperfect people in an imperfect world. But yet I see on television and in churches people claiming they are holy and thou! I am always appalled at the number of so-called Christians, Christians who claim to be loving toward all, picketing at funerals of soldiers who came out as gay or picketing at abortion clinics chanting hateful comments to the people that they are suppose to love and care for! You know the saying WWJD well these people are NOT doing what Jesus would do at all.

"Perfect Christians" are not going to impact people for Christ but broken people will."

Through out the bible, old testament and new testament, God used broken people with broken stories to best show his glory. Just look at Solomon, David, and Paul. These men where broken beyond belief but God still used them. How much more can God use you just as you are!

"The Pursuit of excellence is gratifying and healthy, the pursuit of perfection is frustrating, neurotic, and a terrible waste of time."- Edwin Bliss

Stop trying to get validation from people, who might I add are IMPERFECT. Start getting validation from God, who is PERFECT!

"Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God"-Colossians 3:1
