Healthy Life Hacks with a Free Printable!

What I've learned in the past is that getting strong and feeling good doesn't have to take a lot time and effort. It takes many small steps to change the bigger picture. If you want to lose weight you have to take small steps at a time. You want to become happier and less anxious it takes small tiny steps at a time. Making minor tweaks to your daily life can help save you from stopping whatever New Year's resolution you may have.

Part of my 30 Days to A Happier, Healthier You Initiative I want to help you today change tiny things in your daily routine to get you to the goal that you have set for yourself. Are You Ready?

Boost Your Fitness

Minor Tweak #1
Sunday Planning- Sit down and plan out your exercise schedule for the week. This takes the guesswork out of the week. Put your schedule where you can see it like on a erase board or post-it. Then save it to an alarm with fist-pumping music as the ringtone so you can get up at that very second and go exercise.
Minor Tweak #2
Prep the Night Before- Have your clothes, shoes, and bag out lying at the door so you can grab and go in the morning. Have your pre-workout snack laying on top of your clothes. Not a gym fan, no worries, plan out your clothing as usual as well as your pre-workout snack and lay it at your bedroom door so you know what the deal is when you wake up.
Minor Tweak #3
Wear part of your workout gear to bed-Whether it's your favorite workout top or your yoga pants. Find one thing that you can wear that's also comfortable and wear it to sleep. When you have half of your clothing on it helps beat the morning "I don't want to do this" motto!

Boost Your Nutrition

Minor Tweak #1
Pack Snacks- By doing this you keep those hunger pains at bay! Find fruits, nuts, and veggies that you like and always have them on hand in your purse whether at work, college, out shopping, or on a road trip. It keeps you away from the vending machine.
Minor Tweak #2
Go Spicy- Adding spicy seasoning such as turmeric and nutmeg helps make boring food like nuts and salad more fun to chop on. For sauses get hot sauce to add to your fish, chicken, or salmon. Spicy food increase metabolism and makes you fuller quicker especially since you'll be downing water every five seconds ;)
Minor Tweak #3
Drink Water Infused Drinks- If water is boring to you add fruit such as berries and lemon in your water and let it sit for a few minutes. You can also add cucumber to fight bloating and different types of herbs such as mint for a nice taste.

Boost Your Sleep

Minor Tweak #1
Sip Tea before Bedtime- Drinking non-decaffeinated tea like green tea or chamomile tea before bedtime aids in sleep and it De-puffs!
Minor Tweak #2
Attempt a Bed Schedule-Going to bed and getting up at the same time everyday helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle which aids in better sleep and less insomniac episodes!
Minor Tweak #3
Get Up and do something relaxing- If you can't fall asleep in the first 15 minutes of laying down then you need to get back up and do something that will help in progression of sleep. Read a book, take a bath, meditate but whatever you do, DO NOT get on your phone! Especially searching through your instagram feed! Technology keeps you awake, doing less stimulating things causes sleepiness!

Boost Your Attitude

Minor Tweak #1
Accomplish 1 Thing A Day- Something about being productive really sets off the tone for the entire day. I suggest writing it down at night time and put it where you can see it in the morning. Write it down 3 times...On a To-Do list pad, your phone as a reminder alarm, and on a sticky note on your refrigerator!
MInor Tweak #2
Be Kind to Someone- This can be as simple as holding the door for someone, complimenting someone whether online or off, or saying "hi" to a stranger. These kind acts go a long way.
Minor Tweak #3
Count Your Blessings- We tend to focus on the negative far too often. Make it a point to wake up and say one good thing about today..."I'm so glad I'm alive today." or if it's nighttime say "I'm so glad I made it through the day." Counting your blessings helps to remind you of how lucky you are!
